2020 was a big year for the GDA, not just COVID but
- the unanimous passing of the proposals for the Discrimination legislation
- Election2020 – new assembly and International Observers recognising the extension of CRPD and articles
- Internal we welcome Carol Le Page as Director, Social Policy and strengthening the Executive Committee
2021 we look forward to
- the proposals to include grounds on religious belief and sexual orientation
- the launch of the Equality Body – EEOS
- a stronger focus from the States on Article 8 – Awareness raising
- progress on the other Disability and Inclusion strategy work streams – Autism framework, capacity legislation etc
- further promoting Human Rights locally and growing the understanding around Equality of Opportunity and Disability
