Where: Harry Bound Room, Les Cotils (see access guide Les Cotils Christian Retreat & Conference Centre | AccessAble)

What: Prevention of Discrimination

The draft Prevention of Discrimination Ordinance has been released early by the Committee for Employment and Social Security (ESS). It is due to go to the States meeting on the 28th September.

If you want to know what protection is provided and what you will be able to do if you feel you have been discriminated against come along to this meeting. We will also be looking to support the States members as they go into the meeting to decide on the ordinance. We would like to know how you are going to be able to support us and your deputies so that they can approve the ordinance.

We will be discussing the following with you at the meeting:
1) The GDA social policy team will present a summary of the Ordinance before opening to questions for the panel including ESS Employment and Social Security. Carol will also give an outline of the key changes.
2) Karen will briefly introduce the free Consortium training for the new law (www.consortium.gg)
3) We will all discuss what you can do to support the legislation. Be on the steps Wednesday 28th September 8:45-9:30am – find out more on the night
We aim to finish the main part of the meeting at 8:00pm but will be available for questions until 8:30pm.
All welcome but please register via the Facebook event at (20+) Discrimination Ordinance meeting | Facebook or email info@disabilityalliance.org.gg
The button below is the link to information on the ordinance – you do not need to read it to come to the meeting, but it might help if you are interested in any specific area.
